Objectives

 

The risks connected to the contamination by aerosols occur in sectors so varied as the problems of internal pollution, the nosocomiales infections at the hospital, the contagion during industrial processes (microelectronics, pharmaceutical, farm-produce industry) or those connected to the hygiene and to the industrial safety (the nuclear industry for example). This contamination can concern the various aspects of the contamination: physical, nuclear, chemical or biologic.

 

The speciality AERO has for objectives to form high-level practitioners in science of the contamination, able to answer the demands in the various branches of industry (filtration, treatment of the air, the extreme reactionary neatness, audit of the installations) or in the field of the environmental safety (nuclear or natural radioactive aerosols).

 

The speciality is organized according to two itineraries:

-A non-specialized itinerary in science of aerosols especially centered on the physical aspects

-An itinerary more specifically directed to the aerosols chemistry and bioaerosols

 

Inside every itinerary, the training is not only focused on the problem contamination and its environmental specificity but also the knowledge of the future circles of intervention of the students. Opened to students having a level of scientific license, as well physicist, chemist that biologist, this speciality is for strictly professional vocation.

 

The educations cover:

- The physics and the metrology of aerosols,

- The chemistry and the biology of aerosols,

- Problems put by aerosols in the industrial circles,

- The processes of cleaning and protection of the industrial environments,

- The modeling of air in inner environment,

- The behavior and the training of the exploitation personnel,

-The standards and the quality rules of the clean internal atmospheres,

- The radioprotection and the radioactive aerosols,

- The study of the transfer and the confinement

 

So certification 14 644 of the atmospheres with atmosphere controlled, the prevention of the risks by the implementation of the method HACCP or even the associated certification hygiene - safety - environment, even quality OHASS 18 000 concerns the objective of the students in company. The strategies of audit of the installations, the conception or the modelling are also of key points of the training

Organization

 

The speciality is constituted by an education common to both itineraries of 6 Credits among which optional internal two among “aerosol and health”, “acoustics”, “working atmospheres and internal air” or “safety and management of the risks in professional environment” with a training « Rescuer First-aid worker of the Work ». The knowledge of English is checked by the exam of the TOEIC. Every itinerary is completed by two modules of 3 credits specific to every itinerary. Most of courses are in French; consequently, a good level in French language is absolutely necessary.

The speciality is conceived to work in alternance. So a training will take place all year round, by periods blocked from 3 to 4 weeks, interrupted from 3 to 4 weeks of courses. He will allow the students to dive as soon as possible into the world of the work.

This functioning in alternation also allows the speciality to be training by apprenticeship.

 

The students candidates for the speciality « Aérocontamination: aerosols, bioaerosols » will be registered on the University Paris 7 or on the University Paris12 and will be rather apprentices of companies or communities. This learning will be made according with the apprenticeship CENTER “AFI 24” [of industries of the chemistry, parachemistry, petroleum (Puteaux - www.afi24.org)].

 

The speciality can be also opened, according to the professional experience, in training in conformance with the validation of the past by the experience (VAE). So the candidates having acquired in past a level diploma BAC+2 or a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA 3 and having practiced in professional in the domain during a certain number of year can see itself exempted from first year of the Master and integrate directly into final year. In this context, the file will be examined by the educational commission of the MASTER which will rule on the total or partial equivalence of first year M1 before access to Second year M2 of AERO.

 

Finally the speciality is also opened in training to the staffs of the industries or the communities, which possess the criteria of registration required for M2 of the master, and for which their company or administration release educational school fees.

Professional opportunities of the speciality AERO

 

The students who will follow this speciality will have a basic training on particles contaminants, as well from the point of view of physical, chemical as biologic and can choose itinerary which them will specialize or towards a competence in the field of the physics of aerosols or in that of the aerobiocontamination. They can so work in the field of the conception of clean installations, the physical or biologic audit of the working atmospheres or still in the field of the numeric simulation. This field offers outlets in all the sectors: engineering and conception, audit and maintenance, research and development manufacturer.

This speciality is built from the experience of two widely known and recognized vocational trainings: the DESS QCBA of the university Paris 7 and the DESS SAGA of the university Paris 12. Thanks to LMD reforms, these two old  trainings were able to get closer and to propose collectively, in a single offer of vocational training, a common training in which every university knew how to bring its competence, translating a perfect complementarity’s.

             Companies susceptible to integrate the students are the societies of studies or audit of the quality of the internal atmospheres (Véritas, Puissance Air), the companies proposing systems of cleaning of the internal air (AirInSpace, CIAT, Alcion Environnement), the public laboratories (LHVP, LEPI), the designers of installations or laboratories ( Climatplus…), the suppliers of tools of control (PMT, ADS laminaire) or finally in the numeric modelling (Flomerics, OTH)

 

Finally, all the structures concerned by the nuclear environment may also integrate students of AERO speciality (CEA, IRSN, EDF, COGEMA).
